Just as a baby is God’s opinion that the world should go on, springtime is God’s opinion that the earth should go on. A city morose in winter comes alive in spring, road rage diminishes, and curt responses turn into….well, let’s just say they’re less curt.
The colors of blossoming trees along the banks of the Charles River are better than any color palette available to mere mortals. Every shade of green and pink, ivory, white, and purple are visible, creating images that you want to capture and hold as long as possible.
Along paths runners, walkers, and bikers share space soaking in the spring, not wanting to go inside for fear they’ll wake up and find it’s winter once again. And in the midst of this, baby goslings hatched just days before take the shaky steps of newborns adjusting to life on solid ground. Fuzzy and yellow they are fiercely protected by mothers who bark if you get too close and keep a watchful eye on all who pass, quick to lead their young into the water if danger in the form of dogs pass by.
This is Boston in springtime. A time when life seems possible once again and hope, along with the earth, is reborn. The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring.Bern Williams
Spring has come and gone for us. However, after some high temps around here for a while, we have some very pleasant weather to enjoy. Aside from the storms, I think spring is my favorite season and you’ve done a good job, Marilyn, with this blog.

Bettie – I remember in the prom pictures you had posted it looked like you were at least 6 weeks ahead of us in the season. A good advertisement for moving to the Atlanta area! And as I remember your yard is truly lovely.

I have just been up to Scotland to visit my cousin and her husband. They have land with lots of sheep and, of course, lambs running around, also newly hatched chicks, some emerging while I was there, and a pair of pet ducks, one white, one a mallard who rushed each morning to enter the pool in the river which runs through their property. i also saw dolphins having fun in the Moray Firth: Spring is truly wonderful!!

It’s incredible isn’t it? Although I love warm climates and often wish I was still living in warmth the spirit of life that is revived in spring for those who live in winter climates and the appreciation for warmth and light is so amazing.

Amen to that, Marilyn! We experience the same thing here in Minnesota, although judging from your photos, you are ahead of us.
